Can a graduate travel home with family after boot camp graduation?

My friend is absent Bootcamp at the coastguard and I was wondering if he is to fly back home with the rest of graduates after graduation or can travel back home (flight or drive) with family or friends who attend the graduation? I'm planning on going to graduation and I was wondering if you could travel with me or his house at the back of the family after graduation? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
